So when I ran 'conda update anaconda' again, I ran into a similar issue: the update command was still attempting to unlink and link both sphinx (upgrade from 1.6.3-p圓6h9bb690b 0 -> 1.6.6-p圓60) and ipykernel (downgrade from 4.8.2-p圓6 0 -> 4.8.0-p圓60).Ī simple fix for this issue was already found in the comments. My delivery vehicle to the end user must be Jupyter Notebook or JupyterLab with Python and R kernels installed by Anaconda Navigator. I then had upgraded ipykernel to its latest version as part of the packages that I updated individually, but this was a newer version than the version of the package in the Anaconda 5.1.0 distribution. This is cross-posted from How best to update / upgrade RStudio inside or underneath Anaconda Navigator. This is a different issue than what was posted by someone else on this forum. When I first attempted to update anaconda from 5.01 to 5.1, my system was attempting to upgrade both packages to a newer version. I entered the string above in Google and found the following GitHub issue.Īpparently, the issue is specific to Windows in Anaconda3 builds and revolves around trying to link/unlink the old and new versions of ipykernel and sphinx in the same update. LinkError: post-link script failed for package defaults::ipykernel-4.8.0-p圓6_0 ERROR :_execute(481): An error occurred while installing package 'defaults::ipykernel-4.8.0-p圓6_0'.
